Inspired by the time I spent with the longhorns outside my home in Dallas, Texas, as well as the outdoor picnics I used to attend during the Black Arts Festival in Denver, Colorado.

The Samurai’s Winter
“When a loyal Samurai can no longer ignore the tyranny of her beloved Empress, she must gather the inner strength to finally take a stand.”
Inspired by the end of the Heian Era of Imperial Japan, a time where tensions between the Samurai shogunate and Imperial family were on the rise right before Japan switched to a militaristic rule. It was interesting to ponder the question, what if the Samurai's take-over back then was much more personal?
